2021 O Morgan Silver Dollar NGC MS70 David J Ryder Signature Mint Director’s Series

The iconic Morgan Silver Dollar is America’s most popular and widely collected vintage coin. Now, after 100 years, the series has been given new life with the issuance of this stunning new legal tender Morgan Dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint with a New Orleans O privy mark. This coin is the first and only Morgan Dollar ever issued with an O for New Orleans privy mark and is a highly sought-after collector piece. The New Orleans Mint has a rich history, it was the only U.S. Mint branch to have served under three separate governing bodies; the United States of America, the State of Louisiana, and the Confederate States of America. The building has been used as Confederate lodging, makeshift gallows, a federal prison, a fallout shelter, and twice as a U.S. Mint. The last Morgan Dollar produced in New Orleans was in 1904.

We offer this important collectible coin certified in flawless MS70 condition by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation® (NGC®). This historic piece is individually hand-signed by David J. Ryder, who served as both 34th and 39th Director of the United States Mint and oversaw the most popular U.S. Mint releases in recent memory, including the reintroduction of the Iconic Morgan Silver Dollar series in 2021.
