2021 W $50 American Gold Eagle T2 NGC PF70 UCAM –First Day of Issue - 42nd Treasurer of the United States Signature

Description

This 2021 $50 American Gold Eagle proof coin, struck at the WestPoint Mint, is one of the first coins released with the new Type 2 design created by Jennie Norris. The new design is a major departure from how eagles have been depicted on coins since 1792. This key date, first year of issue coin is designated as the First Day of Issue coin and has been certified in perfect PF70 condition by NGC. The eye appeal of this gleaming proof coin is enhanced by being presented in the black core  United States Treasurer’s series certified holders.

Condition

Coins are graded on the Sheldon numeric grading scale of 1 to 70. This coin has been awarded the perfect grade PF70 by NGC and has the coveted First day of Issue designation. Proof coins are the finest quality of coin produced by the United States Mint. The term "proof" refers to the coin's finish. Proof blanks are specially treated, hand-polished, and cleaned to ensure high-quality strikes. The blanks are then fed into presses fitted with specially polished dies and struck at least twice, which gives the coin a frosted, sculpted foreground and a mirror-like background. This coin has been signed by Anna Escobedo Cabral, 42nd Treasurer of the United States, one of the best-known names in numismatics. Her signature is predominantly recognizable because it appears on Federal Reserve Notes Series 2003A, 2004A, 2006, and 2006A.
