2021 Last & First Production Gold & Silver Eagle Set Moy/Ryder Signatures – Rare

2021 Last & First Production Gold & Silver Eagle Set Moy/Ryder Signatures – Rare

This significant four-piece set records the historic transition in 2021 from the Type 1 Gold and Silver Eagle designs (1986-2021), to the type 2 designs (2021-2045!). Very few people know that the U.S. Mint set aside a small group of the final coins they minted with the original Type 1 designs and a small group of the very first coins they minted with the new Type 2 designs.

The four coins in this set come from specially numbered mint sealed boxes giving them a unique provenance. The coin grading service NGC has certified them as Last and First production coins. These sets are highly collectible and worthy of inclusion in any coin collection.

From a mintage of 1,121.500 Gold and 25,795.500 Silver Eagles in 2021, only the last 15,000 Gold and last 200,000 Silver Eagle coins with the Type 1 designs and 15,000 Gold and 200,000 Silver Eagle coins with the new Type 2 designs are eligible for the Last and First Production certification. Only a fraction of these historic First and last Production coins have been certified in the highest numismatic grade MS70 by NGC.

Each coin is hand-signed by two U.S. Mint Directors, Edmund C. Moy, the 38th Director, and David J Ryder, 39th Director of the U.S. Mint. Moy and Ryder brought many exciting modern coins to the marketplace including building the Gold and Silver Eagle program into the top-selling coin series in the world. The Moy and Ryder signatures appear together exclusively on NGC-certified Mint Director’s Series coins.

These sets are the pinnacle of modern issue coin collecting.
