The United States Mint’s First-Ever $100 Gold Coin

Liberty in gown with a torch in right hand and American flag on staff graces the United States Mint’s first-ever $100 gold coin. Released in 2015, this modern-day masterpiece struck at the West Point Mint has a special high relief strike and is minted in one ounce of pure 24kt gold.

High-relief coins are struck multiple times under intense pressure in the coining press to create the best possible 3D appearance. We offer this absolute rarity in perfect MS70 condition by NGC. This coin has a desirable and rarely seen Proof-Like (PL) attribution that gives this piece exceptional eye appeal.   Among other considerations, in order to be awarded the coveted PL designation, there must be a clear reflection in the fields, (any flat area of the coin that hasn't been raised off of the coin during the striking process)  on BOTH SIDES of the coin as viewed from two to four inches away. From a mintage of 49,325 coins NGC has only certified 149 coins in total with the PL designation, the lowest for any PL gold coin!
